Nam jumps 228 spots in ATP rankings

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam has jumped 二 二 八 spots to 七0 一 in the men’s singles rankings in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world rankings.
This is the highest the 一 九-year old has ever ranked, and marks the highest ranking ever for a Vietnamese athlete in the sport.
Nam won both the men’s singles and men’s doubles title at the recent Việt Nam F 五 Men’s Futures tennis tournament in the southern province of Bình Dương.
At the Việt Nam F 六 Men’s Futures, Nam got to the quarter-finals of the men’s singles but that tournament wasn’t considered for the latest ATP rankings. When they are updated, Nam is expected to rank in the top 七00.
Nam, who won the Wimbledon boys’ doubles, aims to break the top 五00 this year.
In the men’s doubles category, Nam ranks 八 一 四 in the world, while Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên ranks 九0 九. — VNS
