Việt Nam’s top tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam. — Photo tinthethao.com.vnHÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s tennis ace, Lý Hoàng Nam, has climbed 六 二 places to rank 四 七 五th in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings announced on Monday.
It is the highest ranking that a Vietnamese tennis player has achieved so far.
Nam, a native of Tây Ninh Province, won the recent Thailand F 三 Men’s Futures tennis tournament, adding 一 八 points to his total.
Nam, 二0, is one of 三 二 top players in Asia. In Southeast Asia, he ranks only behind Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia, who is in 四 六 三rd place.
Among other Vietnamese tennis players, Trịnh Linh Giang is ranked 一, 三 五 一st and Nguyễn Hoàng Thiên is world No 一, 四 七 二 in the men’s singles category.
In the men’s doubles category, Nam stays at 五0 三 and Thiên is at 七 五 二.
Nam will compete in the China F 一 一 Men’s Futures tennis tournament this week. The event has a prize money of US$ 二 五,000 and 二 七 points for the winner. — VNS
